RustyBlade Mega Fish Posts: 987 Kudos: 1667 Votes: 391 Registered: 23-Apr-2003 | I cleaned my tank last week and found these little guys in the AC500 It's the first time my BN's had bred so I was a wee bit excited and stressed after fishing them all out of the filter and bio-balls. As you can see, they went nuts over a piece of zucchini I put in there with them You can also see a couple of my bettas draping themselves over the fry container.[/font] I found another 7 fry a few days later in filter again so all up I only managed to save 14. Add a very small piece of DW and a bit of plant life in that holding tank until they are big enough to survive in the larger lank. This will give them some protection from the direct top light. Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I VOTE DO YOU if not WHY NOT? VOTE NOW VOTE NOW |

RustyBlade Mega Fish Posts: 987 Kudos: 1667 Votes: 391 Registered: 23-Apr-2003 | Thanks guys, they're growing so fast. I will do that Keith, thanks for that info Now I'd love some more advice, although I do have smaller tanks (not set up) I would prefer if I can help it not to set one up for these guys and just let them grow up in the larger tank. How big do you think I'd need to let them get for me to reasonably safely let them go in there? I do have a larger betta floating tank thingy that I can set up which would give them a little more room as they get bigger. Would this hinder their growth? This question is just about the best health and ease of care of the little guys, not for "best sale" purposes because I'll probably just give them away to good homes The fish that could have a go at them in that tank are BGKs, asian bumblebee cats, angels and rams. |

It's funny, when I was doin the tank swap, the first BN managed to get under the filter media inside the aquaclear 300.. He's an inch long, I'm guessing they can get thru some real tight spots, like the slots in the pickup tube ? It surprised the heck outta me lol. The Amazon Nut... |
