Close ups of my Anubias tank | |
keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | No1 I am often asked, how did I set it up? I had a lot of rocks in fact a very large collection ex two tanks a 4ft & 6ft. Also plenty of drift wood, I had just bought more especially for this tank. I measured out the ba After I set it up in the tank I added the water over the rocks as not to disturb the ba I then added the rest of the water and one large piece of drift wood R/H end decided it wanted to float (it had been soaking for over a month) I had to place a decent size rock to keep it down, the rock also forms part of the roof of the large cave R/H end. Many gaps which meant buy more large, med, & small Anubias. One of the reasons I have used the Anubias I found them easy to locate in several varieties and at a good price. They also seem to grow very well in my tank. I will have to break some up very shortly as they have just gone mad, that is why I call it the Anubias Jungle. I have never used Co2 thought about it but too much water movement. This set up the flow of the tank. It also has a large hollow piece of drift wood which goes from the front and over to the back of the cave. It is now home of the large Pictus catfish keithgh attached this image: Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:08 Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:26 Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:27 Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. This also has a larger hollow piece of drift wood now completly covered with small Anubias. I have often seen the BNs go in there. keithgh attached this image: Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:17 Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:27 Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. There is also a natural cave at the L/H side smaller RT about to enter it. keithgh attached this image: Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:23 Last edited by keithgh at 15-Dec-2004 22:28 Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. One ofthe large Clowns often rests his chin on it. That full tank shot that you have just doesn't really give a good image of it. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

It always seems kinda expensive here in sydney, and there is often only a few little plants. Where bouts in oz do you shop? |

keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | misty666660 Thank you for the comments. I just let the tank go wild, I might push a few of the larger ones around a bit but that is all. As far as cost from $5.00 - $20+ that will depend on the size and the variety. Most of my small Anubias came directly from the grower (no longer has an Aqu) the larger varieties are either bought at two Aquariums Bentleigh & Oakleigh, WWW.oafi.cjb.net Mack Lou is an importer.
