This is part of one of my nicest pieces of driftwood with java fern and a little java moss attached to it in several areas. The driftwood itself was a lucky find while I was taking my dog for a swim in Lake Erie.

Very interesting not knowing your location. What is the temperature of the water where you got that piece.

Very nice stormy.

Errr I wouldn't swim in that lake if I were you.

I'm not sure of the exact temp keith, but it is darn cold.

You know keith, you sort of have me a bit stumped on that one. I will have to do some research on that one for you. Lake Erie is part of the Great Lakes system. I found it this last summer, and the water was really pretty moderate while we were there. My guess would have been in the 70's.

Yeah Shannen... Lake Erie is pretty scuzzy! LOL! That is part of the reason I boiled that driftwood for hours and hours in salty water and scrubbed it with a scrub brush. LOL! Not that I would not have done that anyway, but I made sure to go a little overboard with it JUST IN CASE. I have a really nice piece I found the same day that is several feet long and waiting for the day I set up my 75 gallon.
