I would like to share some of my new pictures and fishies: I am having wonderful fun with all of my guppies, have lots of babies, juvies, young adults etc. Here is one of mine: One of GR's The Dojo: One of Shannen's new additions: The severums and firemouth cichlid: |

I like your sevs too. How old/large are they? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

~jamie~ Big Fish Posts: 463 Kudos: 671 Votes: 65 Registered: 08-May-2004 | Thanks for the replies. Theresa, the guppies are snakeskin, the design on their bodies did not show up very well with the amount of light I had over them, (besides the fact that my camera isn't all that great). The second type I have heard been called different things like tuxedo or half black fire. I have had the severums since October and they were real little when we got them and are now about 7inches long and about 4inches tall. The royal plec is interesting 9inches long but we are having a hard time getting him to eat anything. Last edited by ~jamie~ at 27-Apr-2005 06:04 |

Three months later and I honestly think it's tripled in size. Nice fish ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Well what I eventually had to do with my Royal was... separate it from all other bottom feeders. Now it gets all the food it wants. And I can tell it eats them too. How? 'Cuz it's frickin' crap is everywhere the next day.:%) What foods have you tried? I find it hard to believe that a good, healthy, and hungry Royal Plec would refuse plant matter; on entry into its aquarium after I bought him my Royal had cleared all areas it could reach of algae. Try plant matter if you haven't already, and leave it in there for a while. A good-sized tank won't suffer from a lettuce leaf in it for a day. And don't forget, Panaque love their wood. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

~jamie~ Big Fish Posts: 463 Kudos: 671 Votes: 65 Registered: 08-May-2004 | I have tried the pleco passion stuff, algae tabs (I know he's too big for those), zucchini, cucumber etc. He has a big 'ol piece of driftwood, he is a little more active around the tank now so I am less worried but still I worry... Edit: p.s. I do not know if he was eating in the store, I don't think they had him long...Shannen is know for frequenting this store on their weekly shipments to see what new things they've gotten in.
