He is much happier than he was in the little 1g. I finally got a decent picture of him. He swims around so fast that I can't get a clear shot. Here is another picture of my German Ram, Sydney. She has ich right now, but still has her pretty colors. Sorry the picture is a little blurry. I am still practicing. |

Shame about the ich on the ram but the species seems to attract problems. Bump the tank temp slowly to 85 or 86 while you treat for ich at half the recommended dose. The higher temp shortens the life cycle for ich so that you can catch it at a vulnerable stage. Both your betta and the ram will easily withstand the higher temp. Rams prefer temps in the 80s. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

The ram is in my 55g and the Betta is in his own 5g planted. I raised the temp as high as I could. It is at 82F now. I recently added 5 panda cories and they didn't take the high temps very well (got up to 84.5F and lost 2 pandas ). It has been a week now and the spots are slowly going away. I had ich a couple months ago before the ram and the pandas and I raised the temp to 86 and it helped so much. I was worried that since I couldn't get the temp that high this time that it would take longer to get rid of. I guess I'll have to wait and see though. Thanks for the advice. |
