I prefer throwing a line in teh water and sitting back with a beer in my hand. I used to do that for crabs. Lobster are easy to catch if you know how to. And the single stripped fish are called Yellow Tail Snapper. The other more blue and yellow stripped fish is a Key West Grunt. Last edited by Sandy02 at 09-Jan-2005 16:36 |

Goodness ! If I ever do get certified ( ) I'll of course have to take a dive partener, for more reasons than just one if I take a camera down with me . ^_^ Current [link=Contest Rules]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Aquascaping/44382.html?200412022138" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] |

Went night diving in KW (we return there annually for vacations - my dad lived there for a couple years - lucky years for me). Those lobster sure are hard to catch though. I prefer throwing a line in teh water and sitting back with a beer in my hand. Then just drop them off at the marina for some good eats. That was fresh! I think it was the Bight Marina if I'm not mistaken. Love KW. Awesome fun for diving - that's where I learned - and nighttime too!! Those pics are cool. Nurse sharks are everywhere down there. I went on a 90' wreck that was very cool. Saw a couple huge, HUGE, jewfish. Little unsettling really, when you look down and what appears to be the sea-bottom, starts moving! |

Sandy02 Enthusiast Posts: 174 Kudos: 123 Votes: 34 Registered: 11-Jan-2004 | Ah, they were talking about Jewfish, politically known as a Golieth Grouper. Yeah, those suckers get about 400 pounds or so, but personally, you can run into one on coral heads going 15' deep. When I dive I usually go for lobster or something of the sort. |

Sandy, the Cayman was my first wreck dive ever and I wasn't too impressed by it either, they told us there was a chance to see some really big groupers of about 6-8 feet, but unfortunately we only saw some tiny ones. the next wreckdive I'll do will be a bit more planned. |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | Hey all, Yesterday I came back from my 2 week vacation in Floriday where me and my wife did some diving at Key west. Just before we went there we bought a camera case for our digital camera, which allowed me to take quite a few photos while being in the deep Here is a small selection of those photos: Dr. Bonke attached this image: |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | heh, I had no idea how those fish were called, but there were many of them and easy to photograph Whether they taste good I have no opinion on, as I don't like fish (to eat) at all, living and swimming ones I do like The diving locations we went to from Key west were called Marker 1, nine foot stake and the Cayman Salvage master wreck. We used Southpoint divers as our dive guides. In general it was absolutely great, though the water was a little bit chilly for th 45 minute dives. |

Doesn't look like Looe Key or the American Shoal (where I frequent), but those yellow tail look yummy ^_^ Thats a nice picture of that nurse shark ^_~ |
