From what i know, Queen angels are expensive is because they are imported from other countries :/ If they can be caught in aus waters the prices will drop dramatically.

I have just checked my Sea Fishes of Aust

It states Angle Fish (Large family with 7 genera and at least 80 species, of which 5 genera and about 30 species are found in Australian waters.

Yeah, I was a bit miffed about that, but judging from the coloration, it doesn't really look like it could be anything else.

Photo 2 is a Queen Angel?? How did it end up in the GBR thought it was from somewhere else...

Thank you for all the imput. I am planing my next trip already for next year naturally GBR area again.

It's actually, IIRC, a humphead wrasse. Number two is a queen angel, I think LM nailed the clown and the morray. 4 and 6 appear to be lionfish (4 is especially beautiful), and the last invert looks to me like a nudibranch.

Joe, Bob, Larry ... oh, you mean actual names?

You probably know the first one's a False Percula (NEMO!!!one!! ), but (and these are only guesses, more for my own enjoyment than to be of any real help) I think 6 is a Volitans, three is a Green Moray (one always sees them in big public aquariums) and two looks devilishly familiar but I'll let someone who can pull the name off the top of his or her head list it so I can have a lazy Sunday morning.

Otherwise, NEMO, Joe, Larry, Susan, Trigger, Sally, Rodeo, and George.

No5 looks like a humphead grouper.When i was in Cairns a few years ago diving on the reef these fish were like puppies and would come right up to you and let you stroke them ,it was awesome as they are huge.

I know several of these but I would like for some one to give them the correct names please

I did not take these photos on the GBR. I was in Cairns for several days before travelling further north to a Torris Straits Island for six days of fishing and pure relaxation of Island Life.
Yes I did catch many fish also released many as well. Any protected fish was handelled very carefully before it was returned. My mate did a fair bit of snorkelling off the island but after seeing a 6ft shark within 10ft of the shore I changed my mind.
