Well, I've been studying the Users Guide for my daughter's Casio EX-Z50 digital camera, and I am happy to report that I am finally starting to get the hang of it...not perfect pics yet, but getting there. I've learned to make a few adjustments, and following are some images I took this evening of my dominant male, who I call "Bully Boy" for obvious reasons.

I also took a pic of female #2 -- who I now believe may still be incubating a few eggs, in spite of all that she has been through -- as well as one of one of my sub-dominant males -- although the image came out with "red eye".

These images are huge, so please click on each image in order to see it in its original size. If you use Firefox, the new image will open up in a new browser window. When it does, click on the little magnifying glass that is on the image in order to view it full size.

So without further ado, please meet "Bully Boy".

Please note that Bully Boy's colors are highly exaggerated, as this dude is totally sexed up, and the mad emperor of the tank. If I recall correctly, when I first purchased the five fish two months ago, he looked pretty much like sub-dominant male #1 below; but with time, he has lit up like a bizarre negative. Depending on the angle that you look at him, and the angle of the light, you can see three dark vertical bars coming up from his belly to about the midpoint in his body. The three bars do not extend all the way to his dorsal fin:

Below is a pic of Bully Boy with female #2, who is much larger than female #1. Female #1 is the earlier images of the fish in the jar. I believe that female #2 is still incubating a few eggs, as I see her rotating them in her mouth still. She hasn't eaten in five days now, so is already looking thin:

This is one of my three sub-dominant males. All three sub-doms have this basic pattern, although their shades of blue are a little different. Sorry about the "red eye" in this image:

The big question remains: Do I have Melanochromis Johanni? Or do I have Melanochromis Cyaneorhabdos? Or do I have some kind of hybrid?

I will keep trying to get better pics as I learn more about this camera...which they hate, by the way!

To learn how to use the Users guide first you must go to UNI and get a Doctorate of User Guide Interpretation That is what I have found with some User Guides.

Have you experimented taking the photos with out the flash this will even make those blue colours stand out more especially if you have Photoshop

I had to do a google to see where you live I think you would be the most isolated member we have.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Ha! Keith, your point about User Guides is funny, but so often true.

I've tried taking photos with the flash both enables, as well as off. I am now experimenting with increasing its intensity, as Bully Boy's blue is not quite as dark as seen in the above pics.

If I have to go through the hassle of sticking the photos in Photoshop, it's not worth it. I really want to see what this camera can do first.

Isolated? Isolated in regards to who or what?

I didn't realize until just now that this is an Australian-centric messageboard. That being the case, we are actually kind of "near neighbors", being as we are GMT+10 and about seven hours away by plane.
