Here's just some various photos I took today...

Feeble attempts to phorograph the new cardinal tetras (I had to use the fastest mode, so that's why the color and brightness are horrible):

Checkerboard cichlid:

And here is the whole tank. I think I want to move the Cryptocoryne balansae into the back, because it's too tall now...

Great pics of perhaps my favorite fish of all time. Flash just doesn't do them justice. Nice tank too.

no i think you should move the hydro right get another very tall plant to place where the hydro is ie vallis or something similar and get another plant of a size similar to the hydro and place it on the right hand side of the hydro.

overall good aquascape and very nice tetras

I like the tank especially the driftwood.

Cardnals always remind me of a display tank 35+++ years ago at a LFS it was a 4ft with Jave fern only and full of it and Cardnals only they jusyt stood out so clearly.

I will contact you PM re photos

Hmmm...

I'm planning to keep pruning the Hygrophilia (each strand grows a good 1.5-2" per day) and planting the stems so that it covers most of the back on the left side of the tank.

The vals on the right are multiplying quickly as well, and I and I want them to grow primarily on the right side of the back.

I think I will plant the Cryptocoryne balansae behind the java ferns but in fron of the vals, and maybe get some more dwarf Sagittaria or micro chain swords for the bottom.

The cardinal tetras are hilarious, almost rivaling the corys in their antics.

When I put some bottom feeder wafers in, the cardinals loved them. It was really funny to see the little tetras down on the gravel eating with the corys.

And also about an hour ago when I was watching them, they were all clumped together in the java fern. Then all of a sudden, they decided to swim in a single-file line all the way across the tank to clump together in front of the Hygrophilia. It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen, because I have twelve of them and they were all in line following each other.

Very nice. I especially like the first shot with the sort-of head-on look. Difficult fish to photograph, good job

Glad to have helped no problem at all.

If you can get some tall thin/bushy plants behind that fantastic piece of driftwood it would make it even better. The Cardinal Tetras would even stand out more against the green. Try to get a dark green pant if that is possible.
