Thank you very much for the comments. I have managed to some very lucky close us in the last year especially flowers.

First of all it is luck where the fish is at the time. Secondly but possibly the most important is a very good camera. I have a Nikon 4500 which was designed to very close ups 3/4 ins. It also has a ring light that goes around the lens. Finaly a very good photo program I use Adobe.

With all these going for me it just makes it a bit easy.

lol..knew you had to have a good camera..Ive just a 635 hp photosmart 2.1MP...so I struggle with the fish tanks.
Other than that its great..
Do you have your tank lights on when taking them? Or maybe take them at night when the room is dark with just the tank lights? I find I get the flash in it, but I have taken a few at an angle, that seemed to work..
I will have to fiddle around a bit more with it..

Love those clowns

I always have the tank lights on a twin fluro unit.

I have done a few with the room lighs off at night but this means turning the tank lights back on again.

With my ring light not a flash I can get a good close up even into a cave. Not the best photo as cave set back a few inches.

Using a camera flash I have tried several things including putting my finger over part of the flash, as well as using a paper tissue.

I find just sitting at an angle and tilting the camera seems to give the best effect.

I have only been playing with a digital for just over a year.

Pating my self on the back. I recently took several 100 photos of roses, many under shocking conditions, indoors at a large floral display, outdoors in the growers field with strong winds, and several other little problems. One of my photos, I was asked how did I do it? Why? I asked. I just took them as I located them in the field. Apprently I am the only person (including a very high priced pro photographer) ever to take that particular rose and get all the colours perfect.

All I can say I just seem to have the eye to get all it together.

Finally I always shoot in Automatic. I would not know how to adjust my monster. As a good instructor explained to me the camera company have spent millions perfecting automatic so why change it. If it needs changing use a good computer program.

Sorry to be long but I hope this all helpes.

Here are some of my problems with reflections.
