My first Bolivian Butterfly Cichlid | |

I have only had them for four days, they are extremly easy to photograph as they do not move all over the place when you are trying to photograph them. My problem is that they are in the middle R/H end that is why you can see the reflections. I especially like the face on, what are your opinions? They are easy to photo, they tend to stop and hover. I think it's cos the buggers know how gorgeous they are and are hamming it up for the camera. Look at me look at me I'm so pretty ! Both are nice shots but I especially like the face-on I've kept both Bolivian and German rams in the past. I lost the last of them during my big tank ick/fungus outbreak Seeing your pics makes me want some again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Now how do I entice them to stay there. I also have add three small anubias around the entrance to the cave. I just went to take a photo of the new cave one hr after I altered it and this is what I saw. The third photo was a bit out of focus, he/she was coming out of the cave. I don't know if you can really entice them to use the cave. While very shy at first they quickly become very outgoing and gregarious fish. They pop up all over the place and are very active, they may only use the cave for breeding. Another great thing about them that I just recently discovered is that they are apparently great for eradicating snails, not the snails themselves, but apparently they love munching on snail eggs so they can really help stop a snail population get out of control.Watch them and you'll see they love poking around at plant roots and the underside of leaves. Great fish Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |
