It's the oldest in the nation, located downtown. Not as impressive as Baltimore, but still nice and I think it's worth visiting. Nice pics, but it's not your fault if the animals aren't in good condition when you're taking the pics! -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

wheezo Fish Addict Posts: 675 Kudos: 293 Votes: 1 Registered: 22-Jul-2003 | yea.. they do get drop eye like that. but arowannas wouldn't need to look down all the time if they were being fed food up top. they were probably fed feeders... so they had to look down and get them. feeding crickets and pellets was what i use to do to prevent the drop eyes. |

littlemousling Conchiform Posts: 5230 Registered: 23-Aug-2003 | Isn't Belle Isle the oldest public aquarium? I'm on the FOBIA mailing list and that's their battle cry ... maybe there's some slight difference, like Belle Isle was a private aquarium first but went public second, etc. Probably should've gone, but I'll have other chances. And I can't say I've missed out on aquarium hopping lately - the Monaco Aquarium, Boston, Baltimore, Niagara .... -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
