Nice fish. Your "orange" danio doesn't look like any danio species I know of. Good find!

Thanks!

The danios are pretty odd. They all have a gold line and a blue line with 3 blue dots and fins upturned like wings.

My 20 long's stocklist is:

3 cherry barbs
6 "Orange" danios (1 in or less, hopefully they max out at 1"
2 female Platies
1 female betta
1 pearl

Am I stocked?

Im wondering because I like having the option of adding a bottom feeder.

Nice fish

You're in luck, as those "mystery danios" don't usually get larger than 1 inch. In fact, they're not even danios. They are actually a species related to cyprinid hatchetfish.
Heres the fishbase profile-

To answer your other question, no, you aren't fully stocked, especially since your aquarium is a long, but you're coming pretty close. You could definitely add a small group of Otos, just as long as you keep up on water changes.

Wow thanks!

I got them for $4.50 each, a small investment for some really interesting fish.

Zach, good ID on the Chela species. They are actually not too unrelated to danios. I've never heard of a cyprinid hatchetfish, though.

tank looks great katieb!
i would like to see you slowly transition to live plants though.. i think it will help your tanks overall appearance alot! i thonk you should be able to do a small school of corries or a bn plec.

I tried a planted tank before, didn't work out so well

This tank is less than a watt per gallon, but I will probably add more java fern as it seems to require little effort.

Thanks for all the help. This thread was really informative

Alright my sister bought a fish from a platy tank, that appears to be a swordtail. This was about 3 weeks ago. When we bought her her gravid spot was pretty noticeable and I figured she was pregnent. Recently I have noticed that she has really ballooned up. Since I do not know when she became pregnant, I have no idea when she will drop.

This is a photo I took tonight. Its not the best quality as she would not stop moving, but Im hoping one of you guys can give me an idea of how far along she is.

There is a pic in my op of when I first bought her for comparison if it helps

The tank looks great. How do you keep the water so clear?

my female platy got big like that too, i think its a genetic thing to get large like that, i have never seen her drop, but she is always HUGE... i also have a big endler liekthat too and have seen big balloned up guppies and other live bearers... i dont know if its actually a sign of pregnancy...

She dropped a few fry today, but she is still big. I suppose a few more are on the way?
