New Betta Girl | |
katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | This past April, I was attending my University's spring fair. One of the booths belonged to a man selling some really awesome orchids and bonsais. As I was inspecting his flowers, he started pulling out male bettas in small bowls with colorful gravel. Now, my dorm does not allow fish and $10 seemed like a lot for a vt male, a very small bowl, and a zip lock bag of food. I was about to move on when I noticed a very tiny girl in a very tiny bag with blue water. I think he had taken her out to put her in a bowl but had forgotten her in the frenzy of college students picking up the boy fish and choosing which ones they wanted. I picked her up and she was definately a CT and had horizontal stripes like I have never seen. I got her and a bag of freeze dried bloodworms for $5. When I got her: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Katie215512/IMG_3137.jpg Now: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Katie215512/IMG_3230.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/Katie215512/IMG_3235.jpg I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

I am a real big fan of the betta females, they may not have the long fins but they can be just as colorful when put in the right environments. I hope you enjoy her she is a keeper! I have much clearer photos of my other betta girl who was much lazier; this one is all over the place. And I guess it doesn't help that my tank has been battling green spot algae Thanks for all the replies Katie I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |
