PS. Please don't friend me on Facebook. No offense but as a general rule I only add people I know personally!

Nice

Why's it bare bottomed? Breeding tank?

It's not going to be much of a breeding tank until they're of breeding age, haha. It's bare-bottomed 'cuz I'm cheap, and I figured they'd be okay. I'm thinking this might be an incorrect assumption, so there might be substrate in the future.

It looks cool in the photos with the reflections though!

Everyones always warned me against it except for hospital tanks, wondered what your reasoning was .

Hi,
I'd suggest that you put some black construction paper
under the tank's glass bottom before adding the water
and the fish.
When fish see another fish (their reflection) swimming
(shadowing them) they get skittish. Even in a hospital
tank situation with no gravel, one should always have
something to prevent the reflection problem.

I think I will be getting some black trash bags soon to put on the backs and bottoms of the tank. I will also be getting some broken pottery as I've heard that this is good cover for small plecs.

I've since lined the bottom of the tank with black construction paper.

In any case, I have set up a new tank. Pictures of the new plecs I got for it are in the album linked in the first post.

That's the plan! My aim is to get my first brood out of them by the end of the summer. Since some of these are confirmed breeders, I don't think that's too difficult of a goal.
