I went to a rocky beach with tidepools, scripps aquarium, and the San Diego Zoo. All I have time for tonight (just got in at 12am) is just the first of a few pics of the tidepools. I'll stop by a few more times this week with more pics. An anemone: Last edited by mattyboombatty at 11-Aug-2005 01:36[/font] Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I'll put some that I don't post into my photobucket album [link=here]http://photobucket.com/albums/v696/mattyboombatty/" style="COLOR: #FFD700[/link] Another anemone, this time going with the tides, he's half in and half out of water (please excuse the flash, he was in a pretty deep crevice). mattyboombatty attached this image: Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

Sometimes, if you look carefully, you can still see the remains of some unlucky invertabrate stuck in the mouth-anus of the anemone. There's a lot of great stuff down at the tide pools. Scripps is pretty neat-the kelp forest and the scythe marked butterflyfish are, needless to say, the main attractions. Good stuff. It's a shame you didn't get to go to Sea World San Diego, though. They have some of the best aquatic life there--I never even go for the mammals. |

Maybe next time I'll go to Sea World, I just didn't have enough time(never do). I've only been to one - I think it was in Cleveland OH. I'm out there every few years to visit family, so I'll get the chance again, I'm sure. Here's one of the biggest crab I've ever seen there: mattyboombatty attached this image: Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |
