Just got back from sunny southern California. I've been out there for about a week. I went to a rocky beach with tidepools, scripps aquarium, and the San Diego Zoo. All I have time for tonight (just got in at 12am) is just the first of a few pics of the tidepools. I'll stop by a few more times this week with more pics.

An anemone:

Hi,
I hope you had a great vacation. If the rest of the
picures are as nice as this sample, I'd like to see more!

Frank

Thanks Frank, some of them are....the ones I'll share are so you'll think I'm a good photographer. I'll put some that I don't post into my photobucket album [link=here]http://photobucket.com/albums/v696/mattyboombatty/" style="COLOR: #FFD700[/link]

Another anemone, this time going with the tides, he's half in and half out of water (please excuse the flash, he was in a pretty deep crevice).

Were these the ones down at the lighthouse or in La Jolla? Sometimes, if you look carefully, you can still see the remains of some unlucky invertabrate stuck in the mouth-anus of the anemone. There's a lot of great stuff down at the tide pools.

Scripps is pretty neat-the kelp forest and the scythe marked butterflyfish are, needless to say, the main attractions. Good stuff.

It's a shame you didn't get to go to Sea World San Diego, though. They have some of the best aquatic life there--I never even go for the mammals.

These were the tidepools @ La Jolla. Maybe next time I'll go to Sea World, I just didn't have enough time(never do). I've only been to one - I think it was in Cleveland OH. I'm out there every few years to visit family, so I'll get the chance again, I'm sure.

Here's one of the biggest crab I've ever seen there:

Oh I love pics like this.

I live in Canada, in the middle of it heh an there is not much "pretty" fish out here.

We have northern pike!!! I looks like a duck for god sakes

So when I see these pics it makes me so happy lol

One thing around here though is our lakes and stuff are so blue that they look green

Other then that BORING

I hope to go to British Colombia here soon to go to there aquarium and maybe do some dives of the island.

Keep them coming, it gives me hope hahah
