Sparkling gourami pics | |
NowherMan6 Fish Master Posts: 1880 Kudos: 922 Votes: 69 Registered: 21-Jun-2004 | Just wanted to post some pics of my new sparkling gourami. I find them to be quite peaceful, graceful, fun to watch and even intelligent. I'm amazed that these fish aren't suggested more often as small tank inhabitants. They have very similar personalities to bettas and come from very similar conditions in the wild to bettas, 'cept they're much smaller and much more peaceful. Anyway, on to the pics They spend a fair amount of time at the surface: But also like to poke in and out of the plants, "hunting": Finally, they seem to LOVE floating cover, swimming in and out of the floating root systems: enjoy! |

They didn't school, per se, but they do like to hang out together, and they often pick out a favorite spot. I love the blue, blue eyes... Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |

I've heard that means they're either excited or in a breeding mood - either way it's a good thing. |

They've colored up really nice after being fed some high quality food, taken on a reddish brown color, along with bluish-green hints. |
