Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | Alex, it is some kind of Myriophyllum, but I'm not quite sure which one, it could be Myriophyllum simulans or Myriophyllum pinnatum, or maybe even another species. It grows very fast, 1 - 2 cm (about an inch) each day. |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | smantzer: thanks and yes that's sunset hygro there on the right side of the tank. Keith: thank you, the tank has been doing fairly well the past few months. I still want to get pressurized CO2, hopefully in a couple of months and then maybe another lamp to keep the background plants in place (they tend to grow forward a little as the fixture is about 4 - 5 inches from the back of the tank. dude_dude: this is a 65 gallon (or there abouts) tank, 4 feet wide, 22" high and 18" deep |

keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | Dr. Bonke Your tank certainly a well healthy planted tank. curvicep For some reason I could not look at your tank photo. Acidrain Bernard is correct that tank won it some time ago. I do not like posting it too often as it looks like I am braging. I would prefer a tagged thread where past winners tanks are placed for all to see or others can be refered to this thread. Just an idea. bensaf Fish Master Posts: 1978 Kudos: 1315 Registered: 08-Apr-2004 | Acidrain, My tank won the last aquascaping contest. Although it's changed a bit since then I'd thought it would be the gentlemanly thing to step aside from this quarters contest. As it's changed so much I'll probably enter in the next. I know Keith's tank has also won in the past so he may have similar reasons for not entering. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | AlexI don't have a close-up shot at the moment, and I can't take one since the lights are off already. It is one of my three Yoyo loaches that I got to take care of the trumpet snail population, which was growing quite out of proportion. Maybe I'll get a close up tomorrow |

Dr. Bonke Moderator Posts: 367 Kudos: 215 Votes: 36 Registered: 15-Apr-2004 | Here's my tank as of one hour ago, I did some serious weeding today as everything had grown way out of bounds again. It'll look best in a couple of days, but I couldn't wait with putting up this photo [/font] |
