very nice and sharp photos! I was in the Tampa Sea aquarium when I was in florida and tried a couple of shots of their fish, I only managed to get a couple of good ones. Maybe I'll post them still.

I adore Melbourne, seeing your pics brought some memories back! Very nice aquarium they have there (nice scones with jam and cream in the cafe too!).

Did you have to tell every one about my big BO BO.
I did see it but was going to alter it later and forgot all about it. You are very observent.
I enjoyed taking the photos and like to show others our Aquarium.

I am posting four new photos usually on a Fri.

If I remember correctly it is 99% SW and most of that is locally captured in and around our two main bays.

I am in Rosebud. My main Aqu's is in East Bentleigh, Oakleigh, and Mornington. I passed several on the way and will continue to do so.

Do the melbourne aquarium have fw species? I thought it was only marine? Where do you live in Melbourne? I live in Kew. What aquariums do you go to?

that's ok keith. thanks for posting the pics anyway. now that i'm looking at them again, they could be some sort of jack. either way, i love seeing large schooling fish... it's a sight you really can't enjoy outside of a major aquarium setting

Sorry I can not help you with the names of most of those fish. They would have been collected from the Great Barrier Reef Australia.

Yes I will be posting more today.

Just before Christmas a spent several hours at the Melb Aqu, naturally there are lots of photos. The first couple of photos show its location & a few others. It is situated next to our Yarra River which flows through Melbourne. It is within easy walking distance from the center of the main buisness distric of Melb.

I will post several photos each week.

I hope you enjoy them as I did taking these photos.

Keith,

Are those Bluefish? They really look like it.

I mean, i doubt the regional name for them is the same, but here on the East coast (i should say, midatlantic coast) we call them bluefish. Maybe it'd be better if I said, are those fish known to be ravenous eaters, and are they fished extensively by sport fisherman? Intersting, I've never seen them in an aquarium before.
