wow!! i just discovered that if u put the camera on the manual setting insted of auto i get much better pics!!!!! whne i put them on the computer i can show u some pics, and to test it, i spun around my room then took the pic when i spun, the pic came out perfect, i tryed it again shaking it up and down too, no more "is that a fish? no i think its a plant, or is it gravel?"

Er ... think maybe I missed something in this, but shaking a camera isn't a good idea.

I dont know what brand and type of camera you are refering to but if you keep shaking it you wont have a camera for very long.

Shaking a camera will very very rarely damage it... I mean they bounce around in the car, around your neck, in your pocket, luggage......

ok, maybe shaking was a bad word i dident shake it like u would juice in a bottle, i just moved it up and down, in a shaking motion, but i dident like thrash it aoround or anything sorry for the confusion

What type of camera do you have? In a manual mode you should be able to select many of your settings include exposure time, shutter setting, film speed, etc., and as such should be able to take some fairly decent photos.
