Theresa_M Moderator Queen of Zoom Posts: 3649 Kudos: 4280 Votes: 790 Registered: 04-Jan-2004 | Shared a bit of absolutely wonderful seedless watermelon with one of my tanks. I'd never fed it to my fish before; the entire piece was gone in less than half an hour! (and next time I will clean the glass before doing something like this and taking pics ) For some reason the keyholes have adopted my new BN and are quite protective of it; here one of them is checking out the new food before letting the plec try: They tend to get mad when the loaches try to share foods with the plec, the plec was happy though: Other fish starting to sneak in: Keyholes finally gave up on trying to protect the melon: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I guess like other foods they just bite it. Because of the water content of melon it's actually softer than other fresh foods I feed my fish. how big are your keyholes and how old are they? I've had the keyholes for approximately a year now. They were very tiny when I bought them; now they're each about three inches long. That is a lead plant weight holding down the melon. I don't use them for plants but I too assume that for a short period of time in the tank they shouldn't cause problems. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

After all, they are meant for aquariums, aren't they? I think we have another case of the "My fish eat better than I do" syndrome. -Ferret -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |
