playing around some more with my camera a little tonight, came up with these couple shots, but i'm still not quite getting the quality of exposure i want. but at least it seems to be improving

pic of my angel. the white specs are my malaysian trumpet snails. mrs moondog calls them "tank maggots", i'm sure you can understand why

and a super macro of my anubias flower pearling this was the first try on super macro, i think i must have had something weird going on when i was having focus issues, although super macro has never had that much problem as the normal mode:

Now that is a lot better. At first I thought they were feding pellets.

Good Macro shot or was it Supa Macro

Remember practice makes perfect, well that is what "they" say.

Nice sharp photos, but they seem a bit on the yellow side, have you tried adjusting the white balance on your camera a little? That way you may be able to get the colors more natural. New cameras always require a decent amount of fiddling before the photos come out best

i tried adjusting the white balance against the white tubing in the tank for my co2 injection, but obviously i either have way too many tannins in my water, or the white in the tubing isn't white enough

moondog - if you have a version of photoshop or something along those lines, you can play with the color balance a little, this was a very quick job to show what you can do if you feel like playing around a little.

and here's one of one of my flying foxes peeking out from behind the driftwood...

That was actually a camera i was considing getting but decided on the cannon s500 it was more slim and convenient, its optical zoom is nothing compared to the minage but i decided i would rarely use a zoom like that.
