Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001 | Thanks everyone! the para pleco is my favorite plec. They get to ~6" and mine is currently around 5". I happened to find it at an lfs that occasionally gets some nice exotic plecs in and bought it in a hurry. It was the first and only time I've ever seen one at an lfs. I have seen them offered occasionally on http://www.aquabid.com though. Jason |

It is hard not to get the white eye reflection I get it all the time. Especially if directly in front of fish. Re previous glare in flash have you tried the plastic wrap. We call it Glad Wrap in OZ . Also does your camera have a screw on for lens attchments if so try a UV filter it also protects the lens of the camera if that gets damaged by by camera. Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001 | the red mix and black gravel...yeah if I had it to do over again I would have gone with something different. I did just re-gravel my 150 so maybe down the road I'll have to do the same in the 75. that is unless you were referring to the black/white mix gravel...which if you were I really like that gravel and am very happy with it. Keith, thanks for the tip...I would have never thought of using glad wrap. I'll definitely give that a try. Jason [span class="edited"][Edited by jason_r_s 2004-08-30 03:54][/span] |

Klee Banned Posts: 420 Kudos: 307 Votes: 0 Registered: 25-May-2004 | Are you sure that's a para plec? It looks, too, errr, colorful to be one. The markings are definitely that of the para pekolita, but it's colors are much more vibrant. Maybe a new subspecies? Ienno. It's really beautiful, though. |

Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001 | it looks just like the pics of the L124 on planetcatfish. L75 looks very similar but L75 from what I can tell has a more orangish colored fins. my para is a little more yellow in person...for some reason in that pic he looks a little more orange than he really is. there is also a 3rd L# that also looks very similar, but I can't remember for sure which one it is. they are probably all the same species, but different color variants from being collected in different locations. just my $0.02.
