I think I'm going a little insane here !

My updated crypt list..

C x willisii
C willisi x. lucens
C wendtti - green, brown, purplish one & mi-oya
C balansae
C undulata
C beckttii

& 2 unknowns.

Very nice choices. It will be interesting to see how you put the mix together.

Hi,
Gosh, I hate to say this but stuffing them willey nilley
is not the best idea.
All plants go through a period of regression when planted
in a new tank. They use up stored reserves growing new
roots, and leaves and getting acclimated to the new tank.
Now you say that when you return you are going to uproot
them and redistribute them into some new aquascape?

You might have been better off thinking of a basic
aquascape when ordering them, refining it while they
were in transist, and then planting them pretty much where
they need to be.

Hello Bob and Frank

Yes 'willy nilly' totally explains my tank right now..
I do have to re-scape but not touching for at least a couple months. I live in fear of this day..

It is a salad with over 20 species of plants..

The new additions were approx 14 plants..

C willisi x. lucens - 2 baby size
C wendtti - green, brown, purplish one & mi-oya (6?)
C balansae - 3 (already had 2)
C beckttii - 1

I'm caught between Undulata and Mi-Oya as faves....

Honestly, I wasn't suspecting so many either..This was not an 'order'. I knocked a 'most wanted' plant off a friends list, and got a darn BOX of various crypts in return.. I was more then surprised and happily stunned to say the least ! I was expecting 2 C ballansae...

The balansae is now in front of the italian val and off to the left of it a tad.. They're the same height approx and the lighter leaves add some texture to offset the val so think they compliment each other ?

Beckti solitary in front right of the tank as a contrast to the 3 small swords behind.. willisi x lucens at the front left between a couple small rocks..

All the wendtii varieties in the back and interspersed thru the right side of the tank, trying to keep track of what is where ! I had no way of planning this out but now have a couple months to think about it...

If I have really good luck with these I see dutch-style rows of plants, right now it's kinda triangular due to the cave in each rear corner.. Maybe I'll have a 'dutch tiangle' ?

LMAO DMa you crack me up, not only are you a bryophyte addict
you have now become addicted to the fascinating world of
cryptocorynes.

Your current selection is rather common, but still it is a
start. There are by far many many more crypts out there, some
of which heft a significant price tag ($60-$100 a plant). If
you trully wish to seek the endevours of the Cryptocoryne
world, you will more than likely turn to the emerged growth as
you will then get the plants to flower more easily.

If you wish to know more I'll be happy to have a PM
conversation with you about it.

Megil.

However my moss samples taking up less room in their water bottles Not quite sure if I'd have room for a crypt collection !

PM sent anyways !

no DMA that would require even more space than crypts >.<

mayb one day, but do it in baby steps, get a nice bryophyte collection and a nice crypt colelction, then move on into the others genuses.

really I mean it- calm down and take it easy . I think the two realms you have now are extremely fascinating and much larger than the average aquarist thinks.
