juwel-180 Enthusiast Posts: 291 Kudos: 212 Votes: 17 Registered: 07-Dec-2005 | Hi guys I have been using tetra's plantaMin for some time now. This mainly feeds plants that take food in through the leaves. But what can i do to help the root one's? When i set the tank up 4 years ago i was not told you had to put any sub root feed under the gravel to help the plants. Is there any way i can help the ones that take food in via the roots with out ripping my tank to pieces |

You place the tablet close to the stem of the plant in the gravel, that is all. they are available in every Aquarium store. |

I just finished the change of substrate in my big tank from gravel with laterite (a clay substrate that breaks down over time, actually pretty acc to what I was told)to Eco Complete. What a bloody mess! |

I just push them below the surface in the substate asx recommended by Seachem. To get the Betta tank ferts it took several testings and ajustments to get it correct Seachem was a big help in doing that. The 5ft tank is a LFS own mix and I add 15ml at every weekly water change. Plants also require good water and lighting many plants have their own and seperate requirements. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I found after painful experience with all of my tanks that lack of proper lighting can not be substituted for by other means like ferts. I am currently toying with the idea to upgrade the lighting of my 20 g breeder as well ... |
