I recently (1 1/2 weeks ago) started a 110 gallon planted tank. it has 3 1/2" flourite about 3watts/gallon and co2. Right now I have about 60 zebra danios helping me cycle the tank. My question is: How long do I have to wait before I start planting? Should the tank finish it's cycle first or can I start planting right now?

Hi,
Actually, you don't have to wait. You can stir plants
into the mix whenever you want to.

As Frank stated you can start now. I am doing a similar thing with my 11G while waiting for the plants I have added plenty of floating water sprite also I feed the ZD sparingly every second day.

I also use Sera BioStarter as per instructions not a problem so far water 100% clear from day one.

X-treme,

The plants will actually help keep the ammonia and nitrite spikes down as they will use that for a source of nitrogen. So don't be too supprised if the readings you get (if you're testing) are lower than you'd normally see.

You can start planting it right away. It's better to Plant it now, so it will help your cycle.

And another reason that's often not mentioned....Zebra danios IME are not ones to dig up plants. By planting first you give them a chance to root themselves before you go adding fish that might possibly decide to do their own gardening . Since it is a new tank and hasn't got as many nutrients in the substrate I'd look at root tabs just to help get the plants established.

Start planting quickly so the plants can take advantage of the nutrients, and so algae has stiff competition.
