The employee couldn't tell me what it was either. It's been in my tank as it came with 2 other smaller stems, and hasn't been doing to hot (very slow growth). It's been left wrapped in the white foam strip with the lead strip holding it all together. So far no roots (if it even roots). I have a 20 gal. with a 55W compact fluorescent strip light, the lamp is a 9325K. Could someone id this plant for me please? Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v227/JEG499/unknown.jpg |

When using high lights you should be dosing with some form of co2 from what i've been told. |

For those that are new to plants, the bunched plants that are sold with rubber bands or a small strip of lead around the ba NEVER be planted that way. Always take the rubber band or the lead strip off the plants. Wash them under running water (same temp as the tank) removing any dead or dying leaves, unwanted snails, etc. Take a pair of sharp scissors and snip the last 1/4 inch off the ba of three stalks in the same hole. Plant them where you want them to grow, and do not disturb them for at least two weeks. That gives the shoots time to grow new roots and begin to start taking their neutrients up through the emerging root system. If you do not separate the new plants, and merely shove them into the gravel the light will not reach the inner plants of the bunch and they will decay and rot, and contaminate those on the outside and soon the whole mess will fall apart.
