On one of mine I used fishing line, and on the other two I used a really dark green thread that blends in with the plant and driftwood. I like the thread better. It's up to you, but either one will def. be less noticeable than you rubber band. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If you use a poly-coton then you will have to cut it when the java is attached on it's own. "If you're afraid you'll make a mistake, you won't make anything." -Family Circus |

That is the reason why I only use 15lb fishing line, and it must be tied tightly as the plant will not move and then it will take to the rock quicker. I have also found out that it will fasten its self faster to old established DW. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. When I got mine, I just put a lead weight around the middle of it, and plopped it in a knot in my driftwood. It fell off a few times at first, but after a while, it started staying in place. About a month after it had last fallen off, I tried to pick it up to move it somewhere else (it didn't appear to have attached itself yet), and it gave quite a bit of resistance (enough so that it didn't come off when I hastily grabbed it), so I left it... You're planting this in a cichlid tank? I'd give it at least 2 months before I trusted cichlids with it. If it's in a normal planted tank with small fish that won't try to murder the plant, about a month or a little longer before you remove whatever is holding it on... a little longer if you have low light...
