I recently got some ludwigia repens, and it's a very healthy bunch that is still growing, but the new growth is looking very pale compared to the earlier growth. The leaves are very close together on the stem and not leggy, so I don't think it's a light problem, unless they're getting too much light? What nutrient are they missing?

Tank uses no CO2, and has 2+ wpg for 13 hours per day. I dose with Flourish, Excel, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium every week.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Hi,
You might want to check out this site:

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_nutrient.htm

It describes various plant symptoms.

Okay, look slike an Iron deficiency, then. Thanks for the link, I'll have to keep that handy.
Fortunately I have some Flourish Iron on hand, so we'll see how it goes.

IME, ludwigia repens really benefit from extra iron. I just started adding Flourish Iron myself a week ago (in addition to regular Flourish, which turns out has very little iron), and I can definitely see a difference in the red plants. The new leaves in ludwigia in particular are now very healthy and very red.

Flourish as well as being relatively low in FE also uses a chelating agent that causes the FE to oxidise more quickly then most. So it's not available for the plants for a long period.

If you have the Iron then try to dose that. If problem persists increase the dosage of regular Flourish as another micro nutrient may be lacking. Extra micros usually get a good response.
