Anubias would be perfect for your tank.

I would choose only plants that can grow on the surface of a host DW or rocks. As you stated you are aware of plant roots and sand.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

No don't leave Plants in pots & you can tie Anubias to Rocks or Driftwood with some fishing line.

Hi,
If you are going to actually use "Sand" and you are
not calling aquarium "Gravel" sand in the vernacular,
and you are going to have that depth, then you should
also introduce the MTS snail to the tank as well as
some corries.
The two will keep the sand loose, and aeriated. That
will prevent the formation of anaerobic bacteria and
the horrible, foul smelling, black areas that are
toxic to plants and fish.

Additionally, wrap a piece of sponge around the filter
intake to prevent the sand from being stirred up into the
water by fish or by you and drawing it into the filter
where it will destroy the filter pump.

Frank

Are they pesty? do they take over the tank? i really dont feel like going through another snail problem, i thought i had the snail issue resolved in my 65 but i turned the lights on this morning and saw prolyl another 10 or so and it looked like 2 were mating, snapped and took out what i can see.
