The plants come in pots or wrapped with lead, so my questions are :- can i keep them this way (in pots or with the lead) for a long time?. Should i have a bare tank or a tank with gravel?. Thanks alot in advance. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

In which case it would be best to set up a tank with a nice rich substrate for the plants. flourite would work. Also a shorter tank will allow you to take advantage of less light. HTH, Megil. ![]() |

Having each plant in an individual planting pot gives you the ability to move the plants without root entanglement that you would have with plants cultivated together in substrate. Potting soil would provide a nutrient rich medium for the short period that you intend to have the plants. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

Some Plants come in pots & they have some type of cotton aroung the plant roots. Some plants come with Lead weights & some white protection ariung them. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

It is a cottony fabric that allows the plants to root and will allow the nutrient filled water to soak in. These plants are grown in hydroponic tanks with lights above. If you plan to grow plants and resell them at a different time, a bare tank with some circulation is a good idea. You could use regular potting soil (without the vermiculite in it and no foam beads) in the pot and then the plant, and then a la inside the pot and not floating about the tank making a mess. So i'll leave them in the pots & remove the Rock Wool & add some Potting soil. Do the Plants die, if i'll leave the Rock Wool?. I will only keep the Plants for 3 months till i sell them. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
