I have been buying a lot of potted plants lately, and they all come with this fuzzy greenish grey stuff called rockwool, i believe. I HATE this stuff! It is so annoyingto try to remove the plant, without breaking up a lot of roots. I try very gently and slowly, but some roots get stuck and snap! To cut to the chase, i want to know of a good way to remove it from fine rooted plats (ie: Hairgrass or Glosso) without snapping their roots? I know most of the plant enthusiasts have unwrapped rockwooll before, so.....Please help! PS: Is rockwool at all helpful for the plants? Why do they use it? It is fun though, once you remove it from the plant, to play with. ITs squishy! ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |

I just wanted to know for future planted pots of hairgrass! Keith, the toothpick/stick idea was a great idea! I will use it the next time i get some pots! Thanks! PS: This may not have to do with it, but can a plant survive 25 minutes out of water? I once had a sword that dried out because it was left outside (thankfully it was just a baby cutting, but the sword wouldnt fit in the fish stores largest bag! ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |
