Hi all!

I am currently using flourish root tabs for my planted tank for the crypt and the amazon sword i have in there. When i bought them, i found that they are like little inch sized or smaller lumps of black. They smell like chicken teriyaki.....or is that just me...............

Anyway, i heard that the Swords are rosette plants, which like a nutritious substrate, and i only have plain gravel, so i thought i would try it. I found that they really didnt change after about a month or so. But, one day, i noticed a leaf that was just taking its time growing all of a sudden shot to the top of the tank in one day! The next day, another had, and so on and so forth. Now i have a huge sword growing explosively and uncontrollably. It seems that it only took a week or so for the roots to get acquainted after my tank re-do, and then started working their way down until they reached the tablet. I have experimented with this on the crypt in the very fron of the tank, and i could see the tablet in the gravel through the glass. Over the course of a week, the tablet broke down into what seems like individual branches of black. At first i took it to be algae, but as i looked close, it wasnt! The only problem is, that now that it broke down, it is slipping throught the cracks in the gravel, and the crypt's side growing roots cant reach it! I think i just have to wait.....

Anyway, i really reccomend plant tabs for those with peasized and smaller gravel, who have rosette plants in there such as swords and crypts. They really and trully do need the nutrients!!!

I have been using Flourish Tabs in the Betta tank 32Lt at the rate of 2 tabs every three months. I use the seasonal calendar for planting so that I will not forget to plant them. They are ideal for slower growing plants.

I also use the liquid Seachem fert products Betta tank only.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

I used to use JBL 'the seven balls" with my anubias. It was like steroids for them. Plus they lasted a long time too.

Even the jungle labs tablets are great for the Amazons. You need to add them once a month but the effect is great.
