I'm hoping to get more to put around my crypts to see if they help. I did find that when I put them in the substrate and did my gravel vac, they either turn into little solid rocks (which indicates that they aren't dissolving properly), or I can send up a cloud of dissolved concentrated fertilizer if I'm not careful. It's hit-or-miss. If you do use them, I'd break them up into pieces and put them pretty far own into the substrate, then be very careful with your gravel vac. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |

They are only really good with plants that you will keep rooted for the duration of their stay in the aquarium like swords, crypts, things of that nature. They are pretty useless around the stem plants. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I've tried different homemade ones, and they usually wind up sitting there like rocks even after a few months. The seachem blocks broke up quickly and the swords I had showed good growth. |

Seems to do the trick. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
