How should I treat them and what with. No spare tank but they could easly go into a large plastic container, with heater and airation. They will possibly coming directly from the supplier and will not be in the LFS tanks. Remove any injured or dying leaves. Run each leaf between your finger tips feeling for snails or snail egg casings. Lastly remove any brown dead roots. Plant them in the tank leaving the crown just exposed, and don't disturb them for at least a week. I've yet to have a problem with unwanted critters, or problems with the existing fish in the tanks. I just rinse under tap, trim roots and removed damaged leaves. Never seen a need for treatment. Want's going to be on a plant ? If there are any critters the fish will probably enjoy the snack, snails I don't worry about. Treating with alum, bleach and other stuff is being too harsh on a plant IMO. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

It is during this time of the year White Spot is very common in our water and even running a tap "could be a problem" I think I will store some and use that.
