I do not have a CO2 injector, but I just read that airstones with help dislove oxygen and CO2 into the water. I always thought that airstones would remove CO2. |

If you like them and are not injecting CO2, then by all means use them. If you are going to add an airstone because of the fish, keep in mind that the filter return should agitate the surface plenty, and that the necessity and expense of a air pump, and airstone(s), tubing, and valves are not necessary. In a tank that has injected CO2, we are bringing the CO2 saturation above the normal of 5mg/l to a place between 15 and 30 mg/l. In that case airstones drive off the excess CO2 defeating the purpose of injection. Frank ![]() -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

I already have all of the supplies, just thought it was harmful to live plants |

You wont see the type of growth that you get from injected CO2 with an airstone. If you like the airstone go with it, but if @a later time you want to start adding CO2 you'll want to make sure you remove it. ^_^ ![]() Current [link=Contest Rules]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Aquascaping/44382.html?200412022138" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] ![]() |
