2 Gallon Lighting? | |
smapty Hobbyist Posts: 99 Kudos: 64 Votes: 7 Registered: 07-Jul-2005 | So I have a 2 Gallon Exclip Explorer II with Bio-wheel and my Lil' Betta is in it. I am wondering what options do I have for lighting? I was wonding if I could use a desk lamp with a low wattage light bulb...but I dont know if it will over heat. So does anyone have any experience or know of a DIY light? |

I would suggest one that used a fluorescent bulb and not incandescent (which could cause the tank to get too hot). |

Although with that small of a tank you'll not only want to get the lowest wattage flourescent bulb you can but you'll also want to make sure you keep up with the water changes or add plenty of plants as you'll easily have high light and the algae may decide to move in. If you use a desk lamp it can be kept further from the tank so it's not as likely to overheat the tank, plus it'll turn the tank into more of an accent. ^_^ [hr width='20%'] |
