Biowheel replacements? | |
manborg Hobbyist Posts: 142 Kudos: 125 Votes: 16 Registered: 04-Apr-2005 | How often should I change a biowheel? I feel silly asking this, but am afraid if I ask the lfs they will say to buy one because then they can make a buck...is that synical? |

I don't believe you have to replace the biowheels unless the axles become pitted or scuffed up to where they no longer turn. Theoretically they should last forever. Practically speaking the felt that the bacteria thrive on, may crack and fall off. That is when I would change them.
