Some people might remember the other thread i started a few weeks ago asking about Fluval canisters. PEople told me to get the Eheim but i didnt know if i wanted to spend that much money, but since Big Als dropped the shipping prices until Feb 15th, i decided to spend a few extra dollars and i ordered an Eheim Classic 2213.

It shipped out today, but i have no clue when it is arriving because UPS doesnt actually have the package yet.

So im wondering, what should i expect from the filter? How should i setup the media (i bought an extra pack of 3 coarse pads)? Are there any problems that i will most likely run into?

Thanks in advance for any help given.

You should not run into any problems at all, providing you read and understand the instruction book. If you do have any problems ask then and give any details of your concern.

Ok, i found something weird. Whats the big green elbow for? The one that has one side partially open and is not transparent, i already know what the transparent one does.

That part is it not shown in the assembly instructions?

I know with my large Eheim there was a few extra bits that could be used for other connections. If it is not in the book post a photo of it if you can.

Whats the big green elbow for?

I use it to hold the return hose at the top edge of the tank so the hose doesn't kink over time. I think that's what it's for. Works for me anyways.

I see... i tried slipping the tubing thru the elbow, but it didnt really want to fit.

I have my own way of anti kink anyways, im doing the same thing i did for my computer's watercooling.

It is for the tube as a anti kinking. The hose provided should push into it rather than through it.

that is to for keeping the hose from kinking you just slip it over the hose you would use is anywhere your hose is bent at or near 90 deg.
