Bypass Valve Water Changing? | |
Veteric Big Fish Posts: 376 Kudos: 549 Votes: 7 Registered: 19-Apr-2004 | was just wondering if it's possible to use two bypass valves off a canister system to do water changes for a rather large tank? |

The only thing is if you are tanking water out away from the in then the pump will run dry. Maybe make a diagram of thoughts and post it for us to check out. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

What would be wrong in just using a seperate pump. What size tank and how much water are you talking about. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I'm thinking on this because i'm setting up a 120 gal discus tank, and i want to make water changes easier, depend on who you talk to it varies from 30% a week to 30% a day to keep discus properly. |

Sure some of the water would make the lope but it seems a large amount would be new water back out. Maybe you should rig up a system like we have a work for our tanks. The basic idea is to have an overflow hole drilled in the tank and then just have a fill hose in it. As long as you don't let the overflow get pluged up it works great. So if you are using RO water that you have fill a barrel then pump from the barrel to the tank and then the overflow to a drain. If you want a picture I might be able to make you one up. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
