I saw what looked like a 20g tall and a metal stand at a thrift shop. I stopped and looked at it, but didn't inquire as to the price when I saw that the edge on one of the sides had a chunk of glass missing about the size of the tip of my little finger and there were very small cracks in the depression. There was no hood or filters with the tank. I am wondering if anyone thinks the tank would still be useable if aquarium sealant was used to fill in the missing glass and it was checked for leaks and repaired? If so, what would be a fair price for such a tank?

Sorry to say I would not waste my time, money & effort in other words a big NO NO but that is only my personal opinion.

I agree.. but if the stand is cool u may ask if u can buy just that, as long as it is level and sturdy that should be just fine

Good idea pugperson, don't risk & i think it will be cheaper to do a tank yourself.
