Canister filtration rate | |
kmpaton Hobbyist Posts: 91 Kudos: 75 Votes: 36 Registered: 26-Feb-2005 | Since all the great info I recieved in my last post I have decided to go with an Eheim canister, most likely the 2222. What is a good target for GPH out of a canister. I assume it doesnt have to be 10x since there is no bypass and ALOT more media and surface area. In other words what is an acceptable rate for a canister (2x, 5x) ? Thanks Kyle |

However, the 2026 is rated for tanks up to 92 gallons with a maximum flow rate of 251 gph so the turnover is less than 3 to 1. I wouold consider a 3x turnover rate for the Eheim to be acceptable. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |
