Wingsdlc Fish Guru What is this? Posts: 2332 Kudos: 799 Registered: 18-Jan-2005 | Ok I am really thinking about going with real Co2 not the DIY stuff. I just want to make my life simple. I am thinking of getting the kit from the Dr. F&S but I need to get a bottle on top of that. What size do you guys use and where did you get them from? 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

You can get one from any welding supply company, or any beer & tap shop (they sell CO2 and tanks to bars (for pouring draft beer) and to darned near every type of restaurant that sells soft drinks (that's where the bubbles come from in soda). You can choose to rent the bottles, or purchase the bottles. By federal law they have to be hydro- statically checked every 5 years. If you are renting the bottle then the company should test them free. Other companies make the user pay for the test ($10). Some of the tanks appear pretty well beat up. When I went in to get mine, I explained to them what I was going to do with it, and that it would probably be seen as a part of the aquarium system and that I'd like two with fresh paint jobs. I picked up two very nice appearing tanks, and I make sure that I get the same ones back when I take them in to be filled. I have a 30G tank and I have 10 pound bottles. Actually I have two. One is working constantly, and the other is filled and sitting behind the tank for when the current one is empty, that way I don't have a one or two day down time while having the empty filled. The fills cost me $9 and some change (tax)and each lasts me about 6 months at a 2 bubble /second rate of injection. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

I don't know how big a 10 lb is but the 5 lb is pretty large so make sure it fits where you want to conceal it. I've been running my 72g off the 5 lb cansister for about 4 months now and have my co2 running like a slow moving stream. Check out [link]www.aquariumplant.com [/link]as well, LF and myself both got the topgun milwaukee model from there. I think their prices were better than the Drs. Here's a pic of my setup.
