Allright so i just got a 100gallon tank with a canopy but no stand , so ive decided to make one. the dimensions are
60.5" long, 16.5 inches wide, 23.5" tall. Does anyone have any advice for me? or what materials I might need. Cost, anything that could help me. Ive never done this before so any help is needed. Thanks!

Here's my stand for comparison purposes. Its 4'wide X 1.75' x 3' height. Its similar to what you plan to do.

I took another way to make it, different than wood. Used rectangular tubes 2" x 1.5", soldered to make a wide cube with diagonal tube braces at three sides (except the front where the doors are). Simple, yet very sturdy with no flexing at all. You might add another brace at the front, a vertical tube right in the middle of the doors to ensure better weight distribution.

Then, after the tube stand was made, I went crazy and spent some money to make the show great, and sent it for the making of a **very** nice wood stand over the tube structure, sprayed with polyester enamel, more durable against water than the regular enamel. The wood is not loading any weight.

At the top of the structure, notice four parallel tubes. The outer are 50cm away, while the inner pair are at 30cm, exactly the width of the tank. I did that because im planning to replace the 55g tank with a 90g tank that will use the entire top surface of the stand.

Im glad to have it made like that. Its sturdy, safe, and looks better than all the surrounding the furniture My mother got very surprised how well the tank and all ended up!

Hi,
Go to this site and type in your dimensions.
It will generate a complete list of materials, and
give you step by step instructions on the construction.
This is for the tanks, and the stands.
