Con: Glass Tanks weigh more... much more. Pro: Glass tanks scratch less easily then Acrylic. Con: Some acrylic tanks will "yellow" in colour with age. Pro: Acylic tanks can have scratches removed more easily then Glass. Con: Acrylic Tanks are normally quiet a bit more expensive then Glass. Pro: Hmm I dunno, some people just like the clarity of glass ![]() |

Plastic is less expensive than glass. Plastic is lighter than glass. Glass is stronger, Big Water Tanks (100+ gallons) are predominately made of glass, and require less cross bracing than plastic. Plastic tends to flex more (bows in the middle, and turn yellow with age. Plastic scratches very, very, easily. While many scratches can be "rubbed out" as noted in the earlier post, some become gouges from the abrasion of the gravel and constant scraping of algae with "non-recommended" scrubbers. Frankly, I much prefer glass, its far more durable. Frank ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by FRANK 2004-07-24 15:53][/span] -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |
