what type of filter do use on your tanks? i use power filters since they are easy to maintain. i've used a canister, but it was too much of a hassle cleaning it.

I have HOB Aquaclear filters on my 3 tanks. I will be getting a Rena XP3 for a new 55g I'm setting up.

I have an Eheim 2217 canister filter on my 53g. Your right about the cleaning, it is a hassle but it really is by far the best filter i've used to date.

Those who say they cant, Never will !!!

I use Aquaclear HOB filters on my 10 and 20 gallon tanks, and Fluval 3 plus internal filters on my 30 and 65 gallon tanks. I have been very happy with most Hagen products and continue to use their filters. I find they are the easiest to set up and maintain and tend to be very versatile as far as choosing filter media. However, If I had a 75 gal. or larger tank, I'd get an eheim cannister for it.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

The ac mini on my ten, and a topfin HOB on the 29'. It came with the tank and works quite well. Have also used the whisper 10i (don't like it, too slow) and the penguin bio wheel (didn't like it but is a good filter).

I have HOB aquaclear and HOB biowheel. Most of my years keeping fish however I used a UGF.

I really like the aquaclear.

I have not used a cannister.

On my 10 I have an Aquatech 15 and a Whisper 20i internal filter, on my 29 I have a Penguin 170 w/biowheel and a Whisper 20i internal, and on my 55 I have a Penguin 350 w/biowheel and a Eheim ECCO 2233 cannister. Haven't cleaned it yet, because it is a new set-up, but I'm not really looking forward to it.
