Found a crack in my 75 gallon tank | |
alfieferenzo84 Hobbyist Posts: 65 Kudos: 32 Registered: 03-Nov-2004 | I removed all the sand and noticed and crack on the back wall glass, it looks like it was hit with sumthing on the outside due to the surface is rough so i am thinking it has been like this for a little more then a year but it dont look that great, The crack is 1 1/8 long just a tad loger and you can feel it on the outside of the glass really good but on the insides you cant feel it at all, If you look though the glass you can see its crack at a angle, i took a few pics and put them on sounddomain so if you can check them out and let me know what you all think i should do about it thanks http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2571255/6 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2571255/2 |

That is a lot of water to clean up if it goes. I'd be looking for a new tank, and maybe dropping the water level on this one in the meantime. |

I noticed all those rocks was there sufficient styrene foam underneath the tank also some thing on the inside to spread the weight. I would get a new tank extremely fast knowing glass it looks like it could travel at any movement. As Callatya mentioned that would be a lot of water to clean up, not to mention all the damage that will happen plus you could loose all your fish. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
