hey guys,i ws cleaning around 1 of my tanks today, and my cannister filter has sprung a leak, water was evrywhere,it tripped the fuse in the power box,so the whole house had no power,it was a big disaster, yesterday i upgraded filtration on my 55 gal to 2000l/h,so this freed up the cannsiter that was on the 55 gal,so i cleaned it out swapp over the media, set it all up,all was well when i left it,and i did check it for leaks sevral times, and it was fine, ive checked evrywhere on this filter to see where the leak is,and its got my blood boiling,i cant find the stupid leak,i thought maybe 1 of you guys mite have a idea, ive got the filter just sitting in a shollow dish so it dosent drench the carpet anymore, the filter is a via aqua 650,external cannister filter, its getting on in age,but this filter has never steered my wrong,in the whole time ive had,all it asked for was a impeller,so any ideas guys

Hi,
You should probably be more specific in the plea.
What brand, what model, etc. Many are known to have
specific problems and our folks could probably give you
more specific help.
Loose connections due to worn gaskets, or "O" rings,
and cracks in hoses that become brittle with age, or
cracks at points where clamps sometimes are worn or loose
are the main culprits for that family of filters.

well i ended up finding the leak, one of the taps on top has a very slow leak, and when you unclip the top and take it off, where this joins onto the bottom half of the filter,it was spurting out of there too, when it built up pressure i assume, anyway,i got my moneys worth out of it,but it looks like its time to retire the ol girl
