Hex Tank Cabinet and Hood | |
batman Hobbyist Posts: 119 Kudos: 23 Votes: 3 Registered: 05-May-2002 | Hi I have Googled quite a bit for the design of above to no avail, does anyone know a site that gives design for making a cabinet and hood to suite Hex Tanks? My sister wants me to make one when I visit at Xmas time. I am waiting on measurements, but was hoping someone might be able to pass link/s so I could design to her tank's measurements. Thanks |

Heres what you would need: 10-15 2x4s as long as each side, could be cut from a single two by four if the tank is small enough, they come in 6,8 and 10 foot lengths. 5 2x4 peices in the height you want to 5 panels of plywood cut to fit each side. 1 small peice of 2x6 Cut the 2x4s to fit the width of the tank with a little extra on each side, assemble in 2 or 3 rings small hex's to fit the tank on, fittin each end of the side peices to the tall side peices of 2x4 as tall as you want the stand. Once you have this fr Good advice, use screws not nails for everything. Then finish by covering the whole fr Paint to whatever color you want! Tools required would be: Screwdriver Screws Saw (could be hacksaw, jigsaw, band saw, wood saw, etc) Measuring Tape Pencil :-) Last edited by So_Very_Sneaky at 18-Sep-2005 23:44 Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

I can tell you for certain you will have to have an exact plan/tracing of the tank otherwise it will be impossible to do. Have a look in [link=My Profile]http:// www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info [link=My Betta desk top tank photos]http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/keithgh/" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
