How much light does a compact fluorescent bulb actually put out? I'm fairly sure it's brighter, per watt, than a standard tube, but does anybody know how much more?

Hi,
Actually the advantage of the compact flourscent bulbs
are their shape.
A single tube flourscent, 13 watts, comes in 6,9,12,
or 21 inches in length, is 5/8 inch in diameter, and
is rated at 820 lumens.
A compact flourscent bulb, also 13 watts, 7 inches in
length, but horse shoe shaped ( a tube bent in half)
is rated at 800-820 lumens.
A "cluster tube", two tubes bent in half and on a single
mount is rated at 13 watts, 3 3/4 inches in length
and 900 lumens.

By folding the tube back on itself one or more times,
it allows more "light output" (lumens) in a smaller
space.
